There is a part of me that resents the thought of you,
Because it came to mean more to me than it did to you.
Get over it, it says. It was a mistake.
A stupid drunken kiss.
Whiskey, wine & blurred judgements.
But then, there is the rest of me...
Dreaming of what was never meant to be,
Pining for what could've been...
We are very different people I have been told, and this, would never hold.
But this feeling refuses to go away, even if I try.
I know you have your demons, and I have mine...
But my eyes sparkle when you are around, and I smile.
And I feel like I belong.
My heart even writes poetry, for the very first time,
For it knows that the one thing, I want the most...
Is for You to be 'ever mine.
